The Science of iiYoga™

Through iiYoga™ new messages are generated and sent through the nervous system to your second brain often called your “gut”, the place of your instincts in your solar plexus known as your Enteric Nervous System (ENS). Research has shown that this area of the body can be especially sensitive to chemical emissions from distress signals when we are anxious and upset, and is the source of one of the most important chemicals for healing in the human body… serotonin.

The ENS is made up of digestive organs and glands and is the storage place of toxic beliefs and past chemical patterns that, left unresolved, could be one of the reasons why it is so hard to let go of bad habits, especially those related to food and ingestion. Simply put, we ingest bad energy, or toxic beliefs and the ENS stores it in our body and is designed to process the good, usable energy from ingested substances and release bad energy and toxins through waste.

The problem is we become so addicted to toxic beliefs that we hold on to them in our physiology, sending conflicting neuro patterns to the ENS that results in constricted muscles in the body, sudden pain, headaches, poor circulation, breathing and impaired relaxation. Consequently, we become ill, experience weakened areas of the body and are often in chronic pain.

With eye and tongue movements in iiYoga™, the ENS is allowed to relax immediately. The eye movements create a relaxation response through the Reticular Activating System (RAS) in the brain stem, while the tongue movements stimulate nerve cells in the ENS to relax the digestive system (intestines, stomach, liver, gallblatter, pancreas, esophagus). Together, the body achieves a muscular inhibition and relaxation similar to deep sleep patterns in a Rapid Eye Movement (REM) state where we are dreaming and our bodies operate more efficiently.
